Late Hague School 2nd generation
This is the painting style of late nineteenth or early twentieth century born painters who were initially inspired by the Hague School way of painting. A lot of them continued in this same tradition but, as the century got on, they were influenced by other painting styles and therefore some of them turned their back on the Hague School painting tradition and chose different subjects and adopted new ways of painting. Few even started painting abstract, for example painters like Joop Kropff 1892-1979 and Jan Kagie 1907-1991.
